چکیده
Background: The objectives of this study were to compare the graft uptake and post-operative hearing results underlay myringoplasty with temporalis fascia perichondrial-cartilage composite in high risk perforations. Materials & Methods: Patients ages 13 years above diagnosis chronic otitis media – mucosal type perforations undergoing included. Criteria >50% perforation tympanic membrane, revision cases, absent/eroded handle malleus, oedematous/unhealthy middle ear mucosa marginal any size. Pure tone audiometry was done within 1 week before surgery. Seventy cases included for randomly allocated by lottery method into two groups 35 each group perichondrial - cartilage group. After 6 weeks assessed evaluated compared between groups. Results: Graft rates perichodrial 88.57% 91.43%, respectively no statistically significant difference (p = 0.69). mean pre- air bone gaps 31.81 ± 10.49 dB 17.87 7.96 dB. 35.19 ±7.26 22.62 8.77 These differences both highly < 0.001) showing improvement after ABG gains 13.94 8.36 12.57 8.21 respectively. Conclusion: are similar those graft. Perichondrial- even though more rigid thicker than did not affect adversely

Comparison of Temporalis Fascia and Full-Thickness Cartilage Palisades in Type-I Underlay Tympanoplasty for Large/Subtotal Perforations
Introduction: To demonstrate surgical techniques and to compare the anatomical and functional outcomes between temporalis fascia and cartilage palisade grafting in type-I underlay tympanoplasty in patients with large/subtotal perforation.Materials and Methods:Temporalis fascia and cartilage palisade grafting were conducted in Group A and Group B, respectively, each containing 30 patients with l...
متن کاملReinforcement of Sliced Tragal Cartilage Perichondrium Composite Graft with Temporalis Fascia in Type I Tympanoplasty: Our Techniques and Results
In our otological practice, we prefer sliced tragal cartilageperichondrium grafting for reconstruction of the tympanic membrane perforations. In an attempt to reduce residual and recurrent perforations in our series of cartilage tympanoplasty using sliced tragal cartilage perichondrium composite graft, we reinforce tragal cartilage with temporalis fascia in large perforations. Aim: The purpose ...
متن کاملUnderlay myringoplasty: comparison of human amniotic membrane to temporalis fascia graft.
Human amniotic membrane as a homograft material was compared to temporalis fascia to close tympanic membrane perforations in 50 patients with chronic otitis media. Human amniotic membrane was used in 20 patients while temporalis fascia was used in the remaining 30. Anatomical closure of the perforation and reduction of the air-bone gap was measured. The graft uptake showed a 65% success rate fo...
متن کاملA Short-term Comparison Between Result of Palisade Cartilage Tympanoplasty and Temporalis Fascia Technique
Introduction: The use of cartilage as a grafting material has been advocated in cases where there is a high risk of graft failure, such as subtotal perforations, adhesive processes, and residual defects after primary tympanoplasties. The purpose of this study was to compare the graft acceptance rates and auditory outcomes of cartilage tympanoplasty operations using a palisade technique with tho...

BACKGROUND To assess, analyze and compare the results of graft uptake using Tragal Cartilage-Perichondrium Composite (TCPC) graft with Temporalis Fascia (TF) graft in patients who undergoing surgery for chronic otitis media - squamous type. METHODS Patients aged 13 years and above with diagnosis of chronic otitis media - squamous type undergoing modified radical mastoidectomy, either primary ...
